Moderate the comments better. You are letting the trolls take over!
I am appalled that this supposedly progressive website has allowed the trolls to take over. This site used to have a meaningful comment section. But those days are long gone.
I can't stand dealing with the endless and persistent trolling in the comments section. Just now (Rochester Police Officers Suspended After Suffocation Death Of Black Man), as I was going through the comments, found numerous racist, profanity-filled posts. User "Trump-Epstein2020" was a notable abuser (see example below). I reported several of his worst. Came back minutes later and see them again.
So I post a comment asking why these commenters aren't banned for abusing the comment section and my post is deleted in seconds.
Has HP decided that chaos and incivility presents a better business model than respectful discourse?
Maybe I'll check back once a week or so to see if this issue is addressed, but until then, I'm done with HP

I was intrigued to click on the article about crispy crème doughnut with picture of all the cars lined ups. Then was quickly disappointed when the first words were the lords name used in vain. I don't understand why it has to be used all the time. Use of better language would be appreciated.

Horrible user experience to have the continue to indent with replies. They shrink to a very narrow band and are hard to read. Did you guys even beta test this? Who thought it was a good idea to have 1/2 inch of space for a lengthy comment where sometimes there is only one word per line. Ridiculous. Without a good comment feature it is not worth my time to visit your site. Also, old comments before the discontinuation of the social login should have been migrated to the new system. I lost years of comments and likes.

If we are so short on lab testing capacity why are we not using state universities' labs that are sitting empty? The same students that are not able to attend classes provide a labor pool to recruit technicians from.
These are state owned facilities under Governor's authority. Why aren't we using them?
Please ask the states' health authorities this question.
Also can the same facilities be used to make test kits?
I joined HuffPost only to find that my complete name was listed every time I made a a comment I deleted my account. BAD IDEA TO LIST PEOPLES NAMES. If you want to stop trolls just remove the reply option or let people who have made a comment delete any replies made to their comment. Why should troll be able to get their 2 cents in? Also why can't I modify my profile so my real name doesn't appear on my comments. Until I can do that I won't be using your website.
I don't mind people being allowed guest accounts on the site, but please limit the ability to comment to actual accounts. I'm hoping with this new system Huff Post will do a better job at moderation and banning of trolls that are trying to divide and spread misinformation (deleting posts over and over solves nothing). Now more than ever, journalists and the media should fight for the truth. The 1st amendment does not apply to private websites. Thank you.
Make it easier to read responses to my specific comment rather than hunting through hundreds of comment threads to find it.
I second this. Especially during a time of a national health pandemic and emergency, Huff Post should be part of the solution, not the problem. The American people rely on the truth and correct information. Please permanently remove the trolls that are spreading misinformation and causing divide.
"BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Russian media have deployed a "significant disinformation campaign" against the West to worsen the impact of the coronavirus, generate panic and sow distrust, according to a European Union document seen by Reuters."
So when you see names like Charles Hill, Drago, One Team Parlay, Common Sense, Marlo69, Cecil Patrick, RegularGuyUS, WARHUKKER, Mark Pain, Johnation Shane, NY Sicilian, bystander, John Sterling, Fred Ross, chidi chekwas, Corn Pop, DB Cooper, Fred Smith, Citizen KayKay, Epstein America, 1whonoze, Joe Gardener, 18putts, KozarCLE, Gabe Garcia, Homer, Matt Bahre
Look at how many times their posts have been removed for violating policy, look at their post history, or just read the comments over the course of a few days to see the truth in this claim.
