On the web, you can stop any video from playing by pressing the pause button at the bottom left corner, and can turn off sound via your device settings.

i can't take it anymore, so i'll stop using huffpost as of today. it's not so much the autoplay ads as it is the lack of any apparent way to mute them. and i don't want to have to develop some kind of system for remembering to mute my computer before going to huffpost and unmute it when i leave.
